Our success is due in large part to our team approach. Sun Associates is a group of people with varied and extensive educational experience as classroom teachers, school technology leaders, planners, researchers, and policymakers. With the variety and depth of experience of its personnel, Sun Associates has someone with the necessary expertise to meet each client's needs.
Currently, our staff includes the following key individuals:
Jeff Sun, Director, has 15 years of experience working in education and technology, mainly in the areas of distance learning, professional development, technical support, research, and support to educational policymakers. Jeff has extensive experience working with state and local education agencies and has worked in staff and consulting capacities to a number of U.S. Department of Education-funded programs. Prior to founding Sun Associates, he was the Director of Educational Technology for the U.S. Department of Education's Northeast and Islands Regional Educational Laboratory (NEIRL). Jeff's decision to found Sun Associates was based on a desire to offer educational technology consulting services on a for-profit basis directly to schools and districts without regard to geographic boundaries. As learning technologies such as the Internet have developed, matured, and spread widely in schools Jeff perceived a need for smaller more flexible business enterprises which could quickly and efficiently serve the needs of immediate needs of educators. Sun Associates is such an organization. Jeff has a B.A. in Sociology and Public Health from Hampshire College and an M.A. in U.S. Cultural History and the History of Technology from the University of MA at Amherst.
